Mrs. Gerry’s Kitchen, Inc, is a leading manufacturer in the Midwest of prepared salads, and sides.  We are seeking a full time Chef - Product Developer to join our growing team. 

Qualifications

  • Completion of formal training at a culinary school preferred. 

  • 2-5 years related experience and/or training.  Knowledge in food science, nutrition, labeling regulations, ingredient functionality and food processing. 

  • Must be familiar with food safety standards and be self-motivated. 

  • Must have problem solving skills, be able to multi-task and be a team player.  Computer experience in using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new products, line extensions, and private label products; revise existing products, as needed; conduct shelf life studies; develop serving suggestions, research ingredient substitutions; conduct product cuttings; and investigate cost effective manufacturing, etc.

  • Make sure that the hygiene and food safety standards are placed        as a top priority throughout all stages of food preparation

  • Work with Quality Control, Project Manager and production to run plant trials and validation runs of new products.

  • All other duties as assigned.
